HELLO, I’M EMILY

I'm a Traditional Acupuncturist and Somatic Coach with over twenty years of clinical experience and a background that straddles two very different worlds:

  • The Clinical World: Where I’ve supported hundreds of people with chronic pain, burnout, and a wide range of health issues using acupuncture, somatic coaching and qigong. For eight years I also taught on the degree course at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine working as the Qi Gong Module Leader and a Practical Skills Tutor teaching the next generation of practitioners.

  • The Corporate World: Working in the fast-paced FMCG industry (where I had my own experience of burnout and anxiety from overwork) before becoming a consultant, L&D facilitator and coach for executive teams at brands like Warner Music, innocent drinks, and SoundCloud.

That two-decade dual experience gave me something invaluable - a deep understanding of what it feels like to be a high-achieving professional carrying stress in your body, as well as the clinical knowledge to help shift it.

THE MOMENT THAT SPARKED MY JOURNEY

My own journey to this work actually started with scepticism. In my early twenties while at university, a back injury stopped me from doing the sports I loved, and I’d also suffered with debilitating periods for years. I wanted help but didn’t quite know where to look.

On the recommendation of my Mum, I tried acupuncture despite being pretty reluctant at first. It was such a positive and unexpectedly fascinating experience.

It hugely shifted my physical symptoms, and also left me feeling so different - calmer, clearer, relaxed, and more emotionally stable.

That sparked the next two decades of study and work for me - initially Chinese Medicine, Taoist and Buddhist philosophy, meditation, Qi Gong and Tai Chi, and later, coaching and neuroscience.

INTEGRATING MIND AND BODY FOR LONG TERM CHANGE

What I've learned over twenty years is this: acupuncture is a fantastic tool for calming your nervous system, but lasting change happens when we also shift the habits and stress patterns that got us here in the first place.

That's why my work has evolved into something integrated. I blend Traditional Acupuncture with Somatic Coaching and mindfulness-based Qi Gong - meeting you wherever you are, tracking where stress lives in your body, and giving you restorative tools and resources that fit into your day-to-day life.

Walking the Path With You

Right now, I'm navigating my own perimenopause journey, receiving acupuncture and making full use of the wonderful somatic practices I teach. I bring that lived experience, two decades of practice, and a heap of care, compassion and humour to every session.

I'm here to help you feel resourced, resilient, and grounded - not through quick fixes, but through practices that are tailored to you and your life.

My clinical focus areas include:

Outside the Clinic

When I’m not at work, you can usually find me geeking away reading about health and neuroscience, open-water swimming, hiking, Lindy Hop dancing, cooking or illustrating.
