Hello, I’m Emily. Lovely to have you here.
I've been in practice for twenty years now, and despite many other wonderful wellbeing benefits, the main thing I love about acupuncture is that it’s an incredible tool for calming a frazzled, stressed nervous system. Lots of my clients call it a “reset button” and “a return to myself” when they’re receiving treatment - and when I hear snoring I know I’ve done a good job. Such a joy to be part of that process for people.
And in my experience, that sense of calm from acupuncture translates even more deeply into everyday life when it’s combined with grounding, resourcing physical and mental tools. That's why my work is collaborative and integrated - blending clinical acupuncture, somatic coaching, and mindful movement to give you practical resources that genuinely fit into your day-to-day life.
I started having acupuncture when I was at university. I was pretty skeptical to be honest - I knew very little about it and didn't completely relish the thought of having needles stuck in me. But my Mum and brother had already had it and found it amazing, so I was curious. Years of awful periods along with multiple back injuries from sport had left me in need of some help - so I figured it was worth a try but wasn’t expecting much.
To my surprise, it didn't just ease my physical symptoms - it left me feeling extraordinarily calm, clear, and deeply grounded - in a way that I'm not sure I'd ever experienced before. I was absolutely hooked from that first moment. How did those little needles make me feel like that?!
That single experience sparked over two decades of study across Chinese Medicine, Taoist philosophy, Qigong, somatic coaching, and more recently neuroscience. And when I came to studying acupuncture, it felt like remembering something I already knew - everything about it made so much sense to me.
I graduated in 2006 and have practiced ever since, as well as teaching the next generation of practitioners for eight years at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. Alongside this, I also worked in the corporate world - first at Innocent drinks, and then in leadership and talent development consultancies with brands like Warner Music, Sweaty Betty, Vita Coco and SoundCloud.
That parallel career taught me to deeply understand the stresses and strains of corporate pressure and ambition; in 2012, I burned out and over subsequent months and years learned, through necessity, the fantastic tools I now share with clients. Right now, as well as running my own business, I’m managing perimenopause and an autoimmune condition, so I still rely on these practices and resources every day.
I really love my work - so I bring a big dose of warmth, compassion, and humour to every session. We’re in this together. I'm here to help you feel resourced, resilient, and grounded - not through quick fixes, but through practices that are tailored to you and your life.
